About the team
The Operational Transformation and Improvement Division provides strategic leadership, capability and support leveraging improvement initiatives at the Women's, in the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Directorate.
The area is responsible for leading the COO Directorate improvement and optimisation agenda, supporting delivery of the Strategic Plan, driving operational excellence, strengthening accountability and governance, embedding continuous improvement, enabling evidence-based decision making and ensuring the area is positioned to respond effectively to future healthcare challenges and opportunities.

- Operational governance and accountability frameworks

About the role
The Senior Project Manager, in the Transformation and Improvement team is responsible for project managing the planning, delivery and evaluation of strategic transformation, improvement and reform initiatives across the Chief Operating Officers directorate.
Reporting to the Director, Operational Transformation and Improvement, the role provides expert project and program management across interconnected projects and initiatives that improve operational performance, service delivery, patient experience, workforce capability and organisational sustainability.
The position works collaboratively with executives, directors, managers, clinicians, non-clinical staff and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. The role ensures projects are effectively governed, risks are proactively managed, benefits are realised, and change is embedded to achieve sustainable improvement.
The Senior Project Manager will provide expert advice and leadership on project management methodologies, improvement approaches, governance, change management and benefits realisation, while supporting delivery of the Women's strategic priorities. The role will champion a patient centred focus to ensure that the projects meet the expectations of patients and consumers and are completed on time and in budget
A regular day will see you:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate complex improvement initiatives that support organisational priorities and sustainable outcomes.
- Lead service reviews, redesign activities and operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, performance and patient outcomes.
- Establish effective governance frameworks, monitor project performance and ensure delivery of measurable organisational benefits.
- Partner with leaders, clinicians, consumers and stakeholders to drive successful change, foster collaboration and embed continuous improvement.
About you
You are a collaborative and results-driven leader with proven experience delivering complex improvement and service redesign initiatives within large and complex organisations. You bring strong stakeholder engagement, project leadership and change management capabilities, with the ability to drive measurable outcomes through effective governance, data-informed decision making and continuous improvement. You thrive in building trusted partnerships, leading teams through change and delivering sustainable organisational outcomes.
You’ll bring with you:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Health, Business, Management, Public Administration, Project Management or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects, programs and transformation initiatives within healthcare or similarly complex environments.
- Advanced knowledge of project management, organisational improvement and change management methodologies, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to conduct strategic reviews, identify opportunities and deliver practical improvement recommendations.
- Proven expertise in project governance, implementation planning, risk management and benefits realisation to achieve sustainable outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and drive outcomes across diverse groups.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive reports, business cases, briefing papers and presentations for senior leaders.
