Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a leading tertiary referral centre, providing specialised care for premature and critically ill babies across Victoria. Through our Family Integrated Care Model, we empower parents to be active participants in their baby's care, fostering confidence and independence while ensuring the best possible start in life.

About the role
Registered Nurses are responsible for strengthening health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality, holistic and sensitive care, from admission to discharge. They work collaboratively in partnership with patients, consumers and other health professionals.
The Neonatal Nurse delivers specialised, family-integrated care to newborns who are premature, unwell, or have complex needs. They assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. They also support families through education and advocacy, creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the best start to life.
A regular day will see you:
- Provide specialised nursing care to critically ill newborns in a NICU environment.
- Work collaboratively with families and healthcare teams to support neonatal health outcomes.
- Apply evidence-based practice to deliver safe and effective care.
- Develop advanced clinical skills through structured mentorship and supervision.
- Strengthen clinical decision-making and technical proficiency in neonatal care.
About you
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
- Extensive neonatal experience across SCN, HDU, and NICU settings
- Postgraduate certificate completed or in progress in neonatal nursing
- Strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills in high-pressure neonatal scenarios
- Committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care with empathy
- Works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcome
- Exceptional communication skills— Clearly and empathetically communicates complex clinical information.
- Passionate advocate for neonatal patients and their families
- Maintains emotional resilience and professionalism in demanding environments
- Embodies the Women’s values of courage, passion, discovery, and respect
