  • Part time (0.6 FTE), ongoing role 
  • Parkville location, with multiple public transport options available
  • $90,236 - $103,724salary/range (pro-rata for part time) + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave  

 

About the team

Our department provides Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Pathology services to patients of the Women’s and encompasses the clinical streams of Women’s Health and Neonatal care.

 

About the role

As a Physiotherapist in Women’s Health you will provide safe, specialised physiotherapy treatment to our inpatient and outpatient populations.  You'll also model clinical leadership, mentor junior staff and participate and engage in research. We have a philosophy of individualised support which underpins the elements of our clinical care. 

A regular day will see you:

  • Administer safe pelvic floor physiotherapy treatment for patients with chronic pelvic pain as well as conditions such as incontinence, prolapse, sexual dysfunction, vulval conditions or musculoskeletal pain
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team involved in the care of women and their families
  • Display sensitivity and knowledge of ethical and multicultural issues and provide culturally-aware practice
  • Work within the team to lead and coach others, including role-modelling team behaviours, engaging, and influencing senior stakeholders and acting as a key support to the Physiotherapy Manager

 

About you

You will be someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is committed to providing excellence in patient care.

You’ll bring with you:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy as recognised by AHPRA, and current registration with AHPRA
  • A postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy, specifically a Specialist Certificate in Physiotherapy Women’s Health or equivalent would be highly regarded
  • Experience working in women’s health is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated performance excellence (with positive feedback) in women’s health setting, that shows an understanding of the specific needs of this patient population
  • Extensive experience in clinical management of patients with continence issues, pelvic floor dysfunction and pregnancy-related musculoskeletal disorders
