About our team:
Our department provides Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Pathology services to patients of the Women’s and encompasses the clinical streams of Women’s Health and Neonatal care.
About the role:
This role is a clinical role for a Grade 1 Physiotherapist with an interest in Women’s Health. We are hiring two Grade 1 Physiotherapists (one fixed term, one ongoing). Please specify in your application if you wish to be considered for both roles.
The successful applicant will provide safe physiotherapy treatment to women’s health patients, including for acute and chronic conditions, particularly focused around gynaecological and oncological surgery, and pregnancy and early post-partum recovery. The role ensures evidenced-based practice, and a philosophy of individualised support underpins all elements of clinical care. In addition, the role consults with nursing, medical, other allied health staff, patients and their carers.
A regular day could see you:
- Administer safe physiotherapy treatment for patients with acute or chronic conditions
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team involved in the care of women and their families
- Critically review and keep up to date with professional literature relevant to physiotherapy
- Display sensitivity and knowledge of ethical and multicultural issues and provide culturally-aware practice
- Participate in or lead physiotherapy component of the rollout of currently established research
About you:
You will be someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is committed to providing excellence in patient care.
To be successful within this role you will have:
- A degree in Physiotherapy as recognised by AHPRA, and current registration with AHPRA
- Additional professional development or experience working in Women’s Health highly regarded
- Demonstrated understanding of the specific needs of this patient population
