The Royal Women’s Hospital is one of Australia’s oldest and most distinguished tertiary hospitals dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women and newborns, offering specialised services within maternity, neonatal and women’s health. Our goal is to be the best place to work, learn and contribute, and to provide exceptional experiences for our patients and consumers.
About the team
The Quality and Safety Unit at the Women’s is committed to driving excellence in care by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, clinical accountability and patient-centred outcomes. We work in partnership with consumers and staff to ensure that care is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and person centred.
About the role
As a National Standards and Audit Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting organisation-wide accreditation and quality systems. You will provide expert coordination, advice and leadership to ensure the Women’s maintains accreditation readiness and delivers robust clinical audit programs that drive continuous improvement across clinical and non-clinical services.
Working closely with the Director, Quality and Safety and key stakeholders across the organisation, you will lead the planning and coordination of accreditation activities, support compliance with NSQHS Standards, and ensure timely submission of evidence and reporting. You will also oversee the development and implementation of audit frameworks, using data to identify risks, trends and opportunities, and translate these into actionable improvement initiatives.
A regular day will see you:
• Lead and coordinate organisation-wide accreditation processes, including planning, gap analysis, preparation activities and external survey delivery
• Support managers and clinical leaders to meet NSQHS Standards and accreditation requirements through tools, advice and responsive support
• Develop, implement and maintain clinical audit frameworks, programs and tools aligned to organisational priorities
• Conduct audits as required, and analyse and interpret data to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities
• Prepare and present high-quality reports, compliance submissions and recommendations to governance forums and committees
• Coordinate the submission of accreditation documentation, including use of systems such as the ACHS Assessment Recording Tool (ART)
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to implement and monitor improvement initiatives arising from audit findings, benchmarking and accreditation outcomes
• Develop and deliver education, training and resources to build staff capability in accreditation, audit and quality improvement
• Maintain accurate records, tools and intranet resources to support organisation-wide readiness and continuous improvement
About you
You are an experienced quality and safety professional with a strong background in accreditation, clinical audit and risk management within a healthcare environment. • 3–5 years’ experience in a quality or risk management role within healthcare
• Demonstrated experience in audit design, data analysis and reporting, with the ability to translate findings into actionable improvement strategies
• Strong knowledge of the NSQHS Standards and ACHS accreditation requirements, with experience supporting organisational readiness and compliance
• Experience applying quality and risk management principles to design and improve systems and processes
• Highly developed communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with clinicians, consumers, executives and external stakeholders
