About the role
Additional Graduate Midwife positions (Postnatal) have become available at The Women’s commencing in March 2026.
These positions are open to graduates (Registered Midwife and Registered Nurses (‘Dual’ registrants) or Registered Midwives who are eligible for the PMCV 2025 graduate match and have thus far been unsuccessful in matching with a health service.
Graduate midwives/dual registered (Nurse/Midwives) who have already been allocated a position with a health service are ineligible to apply – regardless of whether the position has been accepted or declined. Applicants will be required to submit a statutory declaration stating that they were not allocated a position through the 2025 PMCV process.
A regular day will see you:

Providing midwifery care in The Women’s postnatal wards to women and their babies from:

About you
You’ll bring with you:

Registration as a Midwife
-
Willingness to acquire knowledge and skills that respond to changing operational requirements and enhances your ability to perform in your role as a midwife

A passion for collaborative inter-professional practice.
Recruitment decisions will be merit based, however, priority consideration will be given to applicants

Who are Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents

Completed an approved nursing or midwifery program offered by a provider in Victoria or border community
-
Who are recipients of the Victorian Making it Free to Study Nursing and Midwifery initiative

Applicants who hold dual registration (Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse)
Other Information
If you have previously interviewed for a graduate position (midwifery or combined) at the Women’s we welcome you to reapply for this position. A further interview may not be required.
Additional Graduate Nurse (Single Registered Nurse) positions are not available.
