About the team
People, Culture and Wellbeing (PCW) is responsible for providing strategic and operational services which support the employment and workforce needs of the Royal Women’s Hospital. PCW is committed to forming strong partnerships with clients, aligning practices to strategy, integrating with other functions, and creating value in the management of human resources. We support the organisation to achieve its goals through the effective management of people in congruence with the Women’s values.
About the role
As a specialist in their field, the Employee Relations Manager maintains contemporary knowledge and skills to continually enhance the organisation’s approach to employee relations. As a key leader in the PCW team this role is pivotal in contributing to team culture, providing leadership presence and assisting the team to achieve strategic objectives. You’ll lead and manage the delivery of employee relations matters such as change management, conflict and grievance resolution and performance management.
A regular day will see you:
- Leading interpretation and implementation of enterprise agreements and industrial legislation
- Providing advice to executive, senior leaders, and managers
- Managing complex employee relations matters
- Acting as a key point of contact for unions and representing the hospital in external forums
About you
You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is able to build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll bring with you:
- Previous experience as an employee relations practitioner within a large and complex organisation
- Knowledge and understanding of the employment regulatory framework
- A consultative, collaborative, empowering and inspiring management style, which values the contributions of the team and a drive to improve outcomes for the organisation
- Proven experience in the effective implementation of change management processes and initiatives
- Ability to produce and deliver high quality written and verbal material suitable for a wide audience at all levels of the organisation
- Proven experience in engaging with senior managers to resolve and case manage complex issues
