The Communications team plays a key role in supporting the Women's strategic priorities by delivering clear, engaging and impactful communications that connect our people, patients, consumers, partners and community. Working across internal and external channels, the team provides strategic communications advice, content development, stakeholder engagement and reputation management support across the organisation. The team partners with clinical, research and corporate areas to showcase the work and impact of the Women's and strengthen our profile as a leading specialist hospital for women and newborns.
About the role
As an Communications Advisor, Research you will be a part of the Communications team and serves as the primary communications partner for the Research Directorate. You will provide strategic and operational communications support to promote research excellence, communicate research outcomes and enhance the visibility of research conducted at the Women's. In addition, you will work closely with researchers, clinicians and stakeholders, you will translate complex scientific information into compelling content that engages a range of audiences and demonstrates the impact of research on women's and newborn health.
A regular day will see you:
• providing strategic communications advice and support for research initiatives, programs and events
• developing communications plans aligned with organisational and research priorities
• creating engaging content for digital platforms, publications, presentations and social media channels
• translating complex research findings into clear, accessible and audience-focused communications
• identifying and developing stories that showcase research impact, innovation and collaboration
• supporting stakeholder engagement, media opportunities and campaigns that raise the profile of research at the Women's
• collaborating with colleagues across Communications and Research to deliver integrated communications activities
About you
You are a creative and strategic communications professional who enjoys working with subject matter experts to bring complex topics to life. You have excellent writing and stakeholder engagement skills and are passionate about communicating research that improves health outcomes for women and newborns.
You'll bring with you:
• demonstrated experience in communications, public relations or stakeholder engagement, preferably within health, research, higher education or a related sector
• exceptional written communication skills, with experience producing content for a variety of audiences and communication channels
• ability to translate complex scientific, medical or technical information into clear and engaging content
• strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
• experience using digital communication platforms, social media and content management systems
