About the team
The Clinical Education Program supports the growth and maintenance of the future nursing and midwifery workforce through coordination of the nursing and midwifery learner, graduate and specialty post-graduate programs. Perioperative Services at the Royal Women’s Hospital is a comprehensive dedicated department incorporating all aspects involved in surgical intervention for patients. Surgical specialties include obstetrics, gynaecology, urogynaecology, breast, and oncology.
About the role
The Clinical Support Nurse (CSN) is a direct clinical support role. The CSN will work with Clinical Educators from the Clinical Education team to create an engaged and reflective learning organisation. The CSN provides active and direct clinical support. The CSN works to support learners to bridge the theory practice gap by coaching and supporting them through hands on clinical learning. This position provides shoulder to shoulder active direct clinical support to learners in The Women’s Perioperative services and other nursing arenas if required.

- Registered nurse with current employment in perioperative services in a clinical capacity
- Recent advanced and extensive clinical skills in all areas of perioperative services
- Demonstrated ability to create positive learning environments for all learners
- Demonstrated ability to act as a role model for evidence-based practice
