About the team 

The Women’s Mental Health Service (WMHS) provides specialist psychological care across the Royal Women’s Hospital, supporting patients in maternity, gynaecology, oncology and neonatal services. Working within the Social Model of Health Division, the team is committed to addressing the broader social, cultural and environmental factors that influence women’s health, delivering integrated and equitable care. 

About the role 

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical or Health Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based psychological assessment and interventions to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting women with complex mental health presentations. 

You will play a key role in collaborating with medical, nursing and allied health colleagues, contributing to patient care planning, and providing consultation on psychological aspects of care. The role also offers opportunities to be involved in service development, quality improvement, research and education. 

A regular day will see you: 

• Providing comprehensive psychological assessment and therapy 

• Contributing to multidisciplinary care planning and case review 

• Delivering or supporting group-based interventions 

• Consulting to staff on complex mental health presentations 

About you 

You are a compassionate, adaptable and clinically capable psychologist who thrives working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. You bring strong clinical reasoning, communication skills, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care. 

You’ll bring with you: 

• Registration as a psychologist with AHPRA, with (or approaching) endorsement in Clinical or Health Psychology 

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Health Psychology 

• Experience providing evidence-based psychological interventions 

• Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills 

• Capacity to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a hospital setting
