About the team

The Women’s Mental Health Service (WMHS) delivers specialist psychological care across the Royal Women’s Hospital, integrating clinical work, research, and education. This role sits within the Early Intervention Pelvic Pain Clinic (Connect Program) in Gynaecology – a multidisciplinary service providing holistic care to women experiencing persistent pelvic pain, with a focus on early intervention and improved long-term outcomes.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical or Health Psychologist (Grade 3) to play a key leadership role within the Connect Program. You will provide expert psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions to women experiencing chronic pelvic pain, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team including medical, nursing and allied health staff.

In this senior role, you will also contribute to clinical leadership, supervision, program development, and service improvement, helping shape innovative, best-practice care in a specialist women’s health setting.

A regular day will see you:

  • Delivering comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment for women with persistent pelvic pain
  • Providing consultation and clinical guidance to multidisciplinary team members
  • Leading or contributing to group programs and service initiatives
  • Supporting supervision, teaching, and quality improvement activities

About you

You are a highly skilled and collaborative psychologist with experience in complex presentations, ideally within chronic pain or health settings. You bring strong clinical leadership capabilities, enjoy mentoring others, and are passionate about improving outcomes for women through integrated care.

You’ll bring with you:

  • AHPRA registration with endorsement as a Clinical or Health Psychologist
  • A Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Health Psychology
  • Approved supervisor status with AHPRA/PBA
  • Experience delivering psychology services in a pain or health setting
  • Strong communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
  • Ability to contribute to service development, research, or quality improvement initiatives

Why join us?

At the Women’s, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation committed to advancing women’s health and addressing complex, often under-recognised conditions such as pelvic pain. You’ll work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment where innovation, learning and collaboration are highly valued.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Take on a senior clinical and leadership role (P3)
  • Work in a specialist, high-impact service
  • Contribute to innovative models of care in chronic pain
  • Be part of a team committed to equity and holistic, patient-centred care
