About Clinical Education
The Clinical Education Program supports the Women’s to achieve its strategic directions by providing frameworks for the professional development of health professionals. The Program supports the future nursing and midwifery workforce through coordination of pre-registration, graduate, post graduate and professional development programs.
About the role
As the Clinical Educator – Maternity you will develop, deliver and evaluate capability, competency and learning frameworks to equip midwives with the practice capabilities to meet the operational requirements of The Women’s maternity services and relevant network and rural and regional partnerships.
Key responsibilities will see you:
- Developing, delivering and evaluating learning frameworks to build capability in midwifery and advanced practice midwifery skills and knowledge in maternity services and any other areas as required.

About you
You will be someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You’ll bring with you:
- AHPRA registration as a Midwife with current and extensive experience across the maternity continuum (Antenatal, Post natal and Birth Centre).
- Demonstrated competency and recency of practice with advanced practice midwifery skills (e.g.: perineal repair, Speculum examination, Insertion of Cervical ripening balloon catheter, Prostin/Cervidil administration, amniotomy, fetal scalp electrode application, waterbirth, intravenous cannulation, newborn examination.)
- RANZCOG FSEP level 3 practitioner score (or equivalent) and ability to facilitate interactive fetal surveillance education
- Previous education experience at the minimum level of clinical support midwife/AUM (or equivalent).
- Willingness to acquire knowledge and skills that responds to changing operational requirements and enhances ability to perform in the Educator role.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in environments of constant change and inspire others.
